Michigan-based home builderĀ Moceri Companies on Wednesday unveiled plans for a $1.2 billion senior housing project, which includes at least five developments with 3,400 units collectively.

The developments, which will include independent and assisted living facilities, have a 10-year timeline.

Health Care Executive Kelly Scheer was recently named President of the planned group of senior living communities, collectively called the Blossom Collection.

Details on the biggest project, from Crain’s Detroit:

One of the developments in Moceri Cos. $1.2 billion planned Blossom Collection is a $300 million development at the Maple Lane Golf Club in Sterling Heights.

The Auburn Hills-based homebuilding company plans 807 townhouses, condominiums and luxury apartments at the 288-acre golf course off East 14 Mile Road east of Van Dyke Avenue, which it bought last year from the Roehl family.

More details on the Blossom Collection:

Blossom Collection developments, geared for residents 55 years old and up, are expected to be built over the next decade.

“We have an aging population base,” Dominic Moceri, partner of Moceri Cos., said at the event, adding that his company has “created a new vision for independent and attainable living.”

The projects are expected to include things like clubhouses with casual and fine dining; indoor and outdoor pools and spas; retail space; exercise rooms and other features. The developments are expected to include independent and assisted living, memory care and other services.
