Chart: Retirement Confidence – Workers With Plans vs. Workers Without Plans

retirement confidence

Here’s an interesting comparison: the retirement confidence of workers who have a retirement plan versus those who don’t. In this context, “retirement confidence” means having enough money to “live comfortably” through retirement.

As you can see, those who don’t have retirement plans are much less confident about their retirement prospects — 46 percent of workers without a plan in 2014 were “not at all” confident in having enough money to get through retirement comfortably. Only 9 percent were very confident.

Meanwhile, 24 percent of people with retirement plans were very confident they could make it through retirement comfortably.
