Healthcare Industry Jobs Up, Home Health Care Jobs Down in November

The healthcare industry is booming in jobs, but home health care jobs are shrinking. 24,000 jobs were added in healthcare in November.

While healthcare jobs are increasing, home health care aide jobs specifically decreased, with 1,200 jobs lost in November. Ironically, the home health care industry is expected to grow over the next five years.

In total, the healthcare industry has added 470,000 jobs throughout 2015. There is no note about how many jobs have been lost throughout the industry or what the actual total of jobs added and created for the industry happen to be throughout the year.

Hospitals added approximately 13,400 jobs in November, compared to the 18,000 they added in October. Ambulatory services added approximately 27,000 jobs in October, and while it still added in November, the total in November was only 4,200. The home healthcare services industry is the only one that actually shed jobs, losing approximately 1,200 during the month of November. That accounted for a 1.6 percentage loss in jobs.

As a whole, the healthcare industry added 470,000 jobs in 2015.
